A former high school student who graduated with a bachelor’s degree from a small city in China has now become a star in the social media world.
Shanghai’s Shanhai Middle School student Chen Wei recently set a record for the most tweets posted by a single person in China, surpassing his fellow students who were tweeting for about two years.
The new record is set by his high school classmate, Wei Yuhua, who set a new Twitter record in November with over 14,000 tweets in one day.
He set the record on Nov. 2, with over 3,000 posts in one hour.
Chen was a star of the Twitter community for his “Chinese Twitter Academy” program that allowed students to write and share Chinese-language tweets.
The program was launched to promote and promote the growth of Chinese-speaking students.
In the program, students write in Chinese to show their interest in becoming a writer.
They are given a notebook filled with ideas, including poems, photos and quotes, and send the ideas to a group of fellow students for discussion.
